'Reen Thoughts, published by The Smithereens Fan Club, is the official newsletter of The Smithereens.

As an official project of the Smithereens, the band members directly contribute original articles and photos to 'Reen Thoughts which chronicles both current band projects and the Smithereens' past history together. Each issue contains feature articles, historical (sometimes hysterical!) highlights, whimsical tidbits & trivia, and other miscellaneous meanderings PLUS loads of cool, "never-before-published" photos from the band's personal archives! Previously released in print editions delivered via postal snail mail, 'Reen Thoughts has provided reliable information & news, mixed with some hearty laughs and a few sentimental tears, for over three years to devoted Smithereens fans worldwide.

Now for the first time in the history of 'Reen Thoughts, a few excerpted feature articles will be occasionally reprinted on the band's official web site for the enjoyment of the Smithereens' fans who are online. These samples will also give readers a glimpse of what's in store for them in the back issues of 'Reen Thoughts which are now available as a complete packet of all eight issues.

There are no plans at this juncture to publish regular print editions of 'Reen Thoughts, due to high printing costs and the restructuring of the Smithereens Fan Club & its new plans for upcoming projects. However, some new 'Reen Thoughts features will begin appearing online, in addition to the reprints of previously published newsletter articles from the archives. Also, the possibility of an annual print issue of 'Reen Thoughts is being considered for the future.
