Dennis Diken contributes to Modern Drummer magazine

Smithereens’ drummer Dennis Diken has written two articles for the October 2012 issue of Modern Drummer Magazine. One is a feature piece on Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, and the other is a memorial piece on ’60’s NY session drummer Buddy Saltzman.
Says Dennis, “I’m very pleased to have two articles in the October issue of Modern Drummer. Both are on drummers who inspired me to play. Dennis Wilson kicked my butt hard on the early Beach Boys records and Buddy Saltzman’s playing on the Four Seasons and Lesley Gore records made me want to pick up sticks!”
